New Release! BlackFin Black IPA

New from The Fin City Brewing Company!
Black Fin Black IPA

Blackfin IPA is an American Black IPA made with dark Munich, carafa and caramel malts which provide very subtle roasted coffee & chocolate flavor and balanced by a generous blend of bittering, flavor and aroma hops provided by three different American hop varieties. Black Fin Black IPA is a well balanced roasty-sweet backbone and has a smooth finish with delicious citric hoppiness.

Props to The Fin City Brew Crew!

We're finally there! I just want you to know how much I appreciate all you did to make Fin City Brewing Company a reality! Patrick, Ryan & Mike, your efforts over the last two years have been tremendous. From day one when we sat down for the first time to talk about the possibility of the Fin City BC, you’ve all been so kind and supportive and have gone well above and beyond any expectations we had. Additionally, what I truly appreciate is your positive attitude and steady, reassuring manner. For anyone wanting to get into the business of brewing, actually getting started is almost an impossible feat. It truly has been quite an adventure and at times trying. However, it has been an important time for our brewery and working through this with all of you took the worry off our list. I was…and am…immensely grateful and I’m looking forward to our journey.

I want to send a special thanks to Mr. Shepard. Without your kindness and belief in Patrick, Ryan, Mike and me this would not have been possible.

Doug Griffith (www.XtremeBrewing.com), what can I say? To all of us at Fin City BC you have been invaluable! To try and put into words how much I appreciate your efforts in helping to get Fin City BC up and running would be an immense understatement. All I can say is that words fail me, but you didn’t. Thank you for all you’ve done.

To Brian Brushmiller & the entire Burley Oak Crew – On behalf of everyone at Fin City Brewing Company I would like to express our heartfelt thanks. We were and continue to be humbled by your help over the last year!

To my Dad, Howard. Thank you for teaching me everything I know. Without learning everything I could from you over the years, I would have never had the courage to do this. Thanks for being you and teaching me the importance of hard work and commitment.

Thanks to all of our friends for your support and encouragement. TJ Meyer, you've been there since day one and I will always be grateful for your sense of humor & friendship. Thanks for being there and helping me get started with this adventure!

To my wife (and Asst. Brewer) Michele, thank you for believing in me. Most wives would have thrown their husbands out into the streets for ruining a perfectly good paint job in the laundry room with an “Experimental Stout” explosion! I promise I will repaint! Simply put, you are my rock. I am and always will be in awe of you. Without you by my side, I would not be where I am today. Since the day I met you, the only thing I ever wanted to be was together. Thank you for saying “I do.” Those two simple words changed my life!

Cheers!

at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery

I had an incredible opportunity to meet with Sam Calagione, founder and President of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, Delaware and his lovely wife Mariah. We talked a little about Dogfish and a lot about Fin City Brewing Company and our goals. Sam shared a lot of valuable advice that we will be putting to good use this year. It was the highlight of my brewing career as I have learned a great deal about brewing from Sam over the last 6 years taking tours of the Milton brewery, researching on the internet, and reading just about every publication written about the success of Dogfish Craft Brewery. What a great honor for me to have had the chance to personally thank Sam for paving the way for the rest of the craft brewing world.

I also had the chance to talk with Mariah about the Smith Island Spice Company. We recently made our Drunken Shrimp recipe using 60-Minute IPA and a new spice mix from the Smith Island Spice Company that I made over the winter. You can find the Seafood spice mix at Food Lion & Giant food stores all over the Eastern Shore.
